In furtherance of its commitment to community service and educational development, the West African Law Students’ Association (WALSA), Kogi State Directorate, on Monday, 1st June 2026, successfully conducted a Primary School Outreach Programme at Al Khayr International Academy, Anyigba, Kogi State.
The outreach was led by Eniola Irede Holiness, the Kogi State Representative to WALSA, and was accompanied by Praise Oluwadarasimi Toyin, Head of Media and Publicity, WALSA Nigerian Directorate; Sunday Gabriel Etudaye, Secretary General, WALSA Kogi State; Prisca Eneze Kumode, Director of Finance, WALSA Kogi State; Muhammed Risqurtullai Onozare, Campus Representative, Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba; and Vivian Ojo-Ache Ojochegbe, Aspirant for the office of Director of Women’s Affairs, Prince Abubakar Audu University Students’ Union Government.
The outreach, themed “Touching Lives, Inspiring Greatness Through Education,” was aimed at motivating young pupils to embrace education, develop positive values, and cultivate a vision for a brighter future.
As part of the programme, the pupils were engaged in interactive and enlightening sessions on key topics designed to shape their academic and personal growth. One of the presentations, “The Power of Education: Your Key to Greatness,” emphasized the importance of learning and education as a pathway to success. The pupils were encouraged to remain dedicated to their studies and to see education as a tool capable of transforming their lives and unlocking their full potential.
The outreach also featured a session on “Good Character and Leadership for Young Champions,” where the pupils were taught the importance of virtues such as honesty, discipline, respect, responsibility, and integrity. The speakers highlighted the role of good character in building responsible citizens and future leaders who will positively impact society.
Another inspiring presentation, “Dream Big, Work Hard, Never Give Up,” encouraged the pupils to believe in themselves, set ambitious goals, and remain resilient in the pursuit of their dreams. The session stressed the value of hard work, determination, and perseverance in overcoming challenges and achieving success.
To further support the pupils’ educational journey, members of WALSA distributed educational materials to the pupils. The gesture was warmly received and served as an encouragement for the children to remain committed to their academic pursuits.
Speaking during the outreach, the team reiterated WALSA’s commitment to using education as a tool for societal transformation and nation-building. The association noted that investing in the intellectual and moral development of children is essential to raising a generation of responsible leaders and productive citizens.
The management, staff, and pupils of Al Khayr International Academy expressed their appreciation to WALSA Kogi State Directorate for the impactful initiative and for taking time to inspire and empower the young learners.
The outreach stands as yet another testament to WALSA Kogi State Directorate’s dedication to community engagement, educational advocacy, and the promotion of excellence among the younger generation.
