Support Tinubu’s reforms despite challenges, APC chieftain urges Nigerians

Nigerians have been urged to support the reforms being implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with the assurance that although the policies may present temporary challenges, they are necessary to achieve sustainable development in the country.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Dr. Mohammed Musa Zango (Fatah), made the call during a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Kano, where he addressed journalists on the outcome of the party’s recently concluded congress and the future of the APC in the state.

According to him, Nigerians, regardless of political affiliations, should support the reforms being implemented by the APC-led administration at the federal level. He explained that the policies are aimed at repositioning the nation’s economy, strengthening national security, and promoting development across key sectors.

He commended President Tinubu for his leadership and reform initiatives under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said are designed to revitalise the country’s economy, strengthen democratic institutions, and promote social inclusion.

Speaking on the party’s internal affairs, Zango said the successful conduct of the APC congress in Kano demonstrated the maturity, discipline, and democratic spirit within the party.

He added that the emergence of a new State Executive Committee marked another step toward strengthening the party’s structure in the state.

The APC stalwart congratulated the newly elected party executives, expressing confidence that their experience and commitment would help unite members and consolidate the party’s position in Kano State.

“I am confident that with their wealth of experience, dedication and commitment, the new leadership will strengthen the party structure and unite members in Kano State,” he said.

Zango also commended the immediate past leadership of the party for what he described as honest, transparent, and accountable stewardship while in office.

He further praised the national leadership of the APC for promoting unity, cohesion, and stability across the country.

He also acknowledged the efforts of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for creating what he described as an enabling political environment that allows citizens and party members to participate freely in the democratic process.

Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Zango urged APC members, stakeholders, youth, and women’s groups to close ranks and intensify grassroots mobilisation to ensure electoral victories for the party.

He also prayed for peace and progress in Kano State and Nigeria as a whole, while appreciating members of the media for their role in informing the public and strengthening democratic discourse.
