Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described its recent membership registration and party congresses as a demonstration of internal democracy and organisational strength.
The party’s Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, said the exercises reflected the party’s commitment to structure, discipline, and institutional development.
Oladejo noted that the APC successfully conducted an electronic membership registration exercise before holding congresses across wards and local government areas in the state.
According to him, the processes were peaceful, transparent, and in line with the party’s constitutional guidelines.
“The participation was massive, the process orderly and the outcome clear, a united and forward-looking party ready for the tasks ahead,” he said.
The spokesperson added that the newly elected state executive members represent a strategic mix of experience and youthful participation, which he said would strengthen the party’s leadership structure.
He also stated that the composition of the new leadership reflected continuity, renewal, and gender inclusion aimed at sustaining the party’s political dominance in the state.
Oladejo said the developments further demonstrated the APC’s organisational capacity and its ability to maintain cohesion despite political competition.
He contrasted the party’s internal processes with what he described as challenges facing opposition groups, arguing that discipline and coordination remain central to effective political organisation.
“The APC in Lagos stands disciplined, cohesive and ready for the political tasks ahead,” he said.
The APC has remained the dominant political party in Lagos since the return to democratic rule in 1999, maintaining control of the state government and the majority of political structures.
