Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has assured residents that all ongoing projects under his administration will be completed, with a focus on security, resettlement of displaced persons, reconstruction, and social protection as key 2026 priorities.
Addressing the last Executive Council meeting for 2026, Zulum emphasised protection of lives and property as central to his government’s agenda.
“We will not abandon any project. Everything we started must be completed. Security of our people remains key, and we will continue to ensure maximum protection for all residents of Borno state,” Zulum said.
He pledged increased investment in addressing humanitarian challenges caused by insurgency, including resettlement and rehabilitation of Boko Haram victims, noting reconstruction and social protection programmes will support affected communities.
“We will deepen our interventions on displacement and resettlement. Reconstruction and social protection remain central to our agenda as we rebuild Borno for a better future,” he added.
Zulum commended journalists for reporting and supporting the state’s recovery efforts. “I thank members of the press for their continuous support and contributions in rebuilding Borno. I do not take this for granted.”
